We are proud to announce our 2012 Trauma Conference Abstract Competition. We will be accepting abstract submissions from Monday, the 5th of December 2011 for a poster presentation at the KCL National Undergraduate Trauma Conference 2012. All abstracts should relate to an aspect of trauma care. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words (excluding title, authors and references).

The abstract should be organised as follows:

  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

All submissions must be in the form of a Microsoft Word document and include a word count. Send in a copy of your abstract with you name, medical school and year of study. The deadline for submission of abstracts is Friday, the 27th of January 2011. Abstracts received after this date will not be considered.

The authors of 5 shortlisted abstracts will be invited to prepare a poster presentation of A0 size. Authors of accepted posters will be notified by email by the 29th of January 2012. In order to be accepted for the poster presentation, at least one named author must be registered to attend the conference. The posters will be displayed throughout the 2-day conference. Finalists will present their poster to the judges, Professor Harold Ellis and Professor Keith Willett at the conference on the 4th of February 2012.

The work submitted should be your own original work, which you have not submitted for publication or have already published.

 

Prizes:

THE WINNING ABSTRACTS WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THE JOURNAL TRAUMA, with a chance to have a full article published as well.
